Building Mechanical Energy Efficiency Analyst

Summary of Functions

The Analyst is responsible for carrying out various tasks related to the company’s projects. They prepare concepts, studies, analyses, reports, and project plans for the projects in which they are involved, while ensuring compliance with schedules, budgets, and client requirements.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Review contracts and purchase orders, taking into consideration specific requirements and key points.
  • Develop and interpret technical plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate work and prepare contract documents and bids.
  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Participate in the development of methodologies and calculation files.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings.
  • Coordinate work with the other disciplines involved in the projects.
  • File and organize all project-related documents in the appropriate location.
  • Plan and coordinate travel required for projects.
  • Attend project close-out meetings.
  • Participate in various energy performance improvement projects for existing buildings and new construction projects, in accordance with sustainable development principles.
  • Conduct detailed studies, energy audits, calculations, energy simulations, incentive and grant applications, as well as measurement and verification of performance.

 

Desired Profile

 

  • College or university degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of building mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical systems, controls, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an energy efficiency company (energy production experience does not meet the requirements of the position).
  • Excellent written and spoken French.
  • Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
  • Good proficiency in HAP, Excel, and eQuest.
  • Ability to prepare and write reports using Microsoft Word.
  • Punctuality and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Autonomy, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
